URGENT – Your action needed to protect the Lackawaxen and Lehigh Rivers

This Wednesday, July 11, the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) will consider Docket No. D-2011-022-1.

This is a request by the Tennesee Gas Pipeline to withdraw water from the Lackawaxen and Delaware Rivers for hydrostatic testing and to dispose of wastewater within their watersheds.  This will also involve site clearing, water hauling and disposal, and related construction activities.   The text of the application (docket) can be found here.

We are asking friends of the Lackawaxen River to make statements at the public hearing beginning at 1:30pm on July 11.
